Helen Jean Dane, 83, of Pilot Point, died Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at her home in Pilot Point. Mrs. Dane was born on October 12, 1929 in Hedley, TX to James Thomas and Minnie (Durham) Lawson. She was married to Troy Melvin Dane on November 24, 1944 in Weatherford, TX. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Pilot Point. She worked in the parts department for General Motors for many years until she retired. Mrs. Dane is survived by her daughter, Shirley Cain and her husband, Nick of Pilot Point; son, Ray Dane and his wife, Jan of Pilot Point; daughter-in-law, Barbie Dane of Denton; sisters, Louise Carroll of Aubrey, Viola Daniel and her husband, Bryan of Van, Hettie Lee Hooten and her husband, Jack of Aubrey; grandchildren, Robby Dane, Apryl McNabb, Amy Dane, Kevin Dane, Alan Dane, Steven Cowling, Jeffrey Cowling, Shannon Slater, Scott Cain, Candace Thrower; twenty-nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Jimmy Dane; sisters, Mozelle Estelee Lawson, Willie Mae McClure; brothers, Pete Lawson, Wayne Lawson, Thomas Edward Lawson. A visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday, November 8, 2012 at Calvary Baptist Church. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, November 9, 2012 at Calvary Baptist Church, 117 West Walcott St., Pilot Point, TX 76258. Rev. Luther Slay will officiate the service. Interment will follow at Pilot Point Community Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Steven Cowling, Jeffrey Cowling, Kevin Dane, Alan Dane, Robby Dane, Ty Marshall. Mulkey-Mason, Jack Schmitz and Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
